My last essay “Thoughts on History” presented a few preliminary thoughts on the philosophy of history, particularly with regard to what I call the metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics of history.
Very appropriate for the 250th. In an earlier exchange with you, you convinced me that it was a revolution as well as a secession so I look forward to further exposition. These people wrote stuff and did it well. God help future historians of our time who will have to untangle truth from tweets.
Much to chew on here. I suppose one could write a moral history of WWII and any number of issues. This is an endless and fascinating opportunity for us all. Thank you.
Is "America's Constitutional Mind" a work in progress or did it morph into the two volume series "Political Thought of the American Revolution"? I recently picked up and am enjoying "America's Revolutonary Mind".
Thompson brings up some topics that are certainly deserving of treatment by, and even essential to, history and historians. However, there needs to be a clear delineation between history proper (largely facts, ...) and the analysis of history (where judgments, opinions, ... come into play). Just as there is a distinction in newsrooms (which produce "current history") between news and editorial. Blurring or disregarding the line leads to disaster.
Love this piece. A call to arms for philosophical historians!
Timely. Please translate this to Farsi in the hopes that Persians will use it in forming their own revolution.

America's Constitutional Mind is separate book that I'm working on.
Good…’looking forward to it.

Very quick question: what AI service do you use for the voiceover?
