The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (No. 65)

We’re back folks after a few weeks off for pre-Christmas family events, Christmas family events, and post-Christmas family events. I’ve traveled to Mississippi and Ontario, Canada these last few weeks to visit with my parents, brothers, sons, daughter, daughters-in-law, and grandson. Thank you for your patience.

I hope to return next week with what will be the beginning of a series of long-form essays on American history. With these essays, which are extensions of the American essays that I’ve been publishing for the last year, I am trying to offer a new interpretation of U.S. history. I’m trying to synthesize what I have called the “new moral history” with political and cultural history.
