The Redneck Intellectual is in Savannah, Georgia right now to give a speech tonight to the 224th Military Intelligence Battalion of United States Army. Of all the speeches I’ve given in my life, this is the one of which I am most proud. The title of my talk is, “Why You Fight.”

The Good

If anyone was going to save this world, it was Kevin Cooper.
But on a hot day last June, at nearby Newcastle Reservoir, Kevin drowned in a kayaking accident at a friend’s birthday party. At 14, he had just published his autobiography. He was making plans to expand his 350-acre farm to buy up surrounding farms to convert to regenerative agriculture. He was saving money to build a house for his parents and another for his autistic older brother. He was polishing a movie script and a series of children’s books teaching business literacy for kids. He was looking for a celebrity to endorse his line of luxury toiletries made from the milk of his goat herd. He was breeding heritage turkeys. He was writing guest essays for notable bloggers higher up the political food chain. And, in his spare time, he had the task of grading the road to his farm using the John Deere tractor he bought new for himself for his 11th birthday.
All of this is true.
Also true is that Kevin was the only member of his small family who was not disabled. His parents, Billy, a disabled veteran, and Tina, who is partially blind, are just beginning to fathom what their future will be like without the boy who had that future in his hands. They never wanted to rely on him, but there is no getting around the fact that Kevin had big dreams for the whole family and for rural America, and a list of accomplishments behind him that most adults don’t pull off in a lifetime.
May his memory be a blessing to those who loved him.

THE GREAT LOCKDOWN WAS FAR AND AWAY THE WORST POLICY DECISION MADE BY GOVERNMENT IN MY LIFETIME. Nay, it was worse than that: it was an experiment in authoritarian government the likes of which have never been seen before: Facing the Truth About Lockdowns.
In my opinion, the responses of governments to the covid epidemic represent the worst failure of public policy since, at least, the Vietnam War. In fact, the covid responses were probably more destructive than Vietnam. You would likely have to go back to the perverse reactions of the Hoover/Roosevelt administrations to the Great Depression to find their equal.
The centerpiece of governments’ efforts to “fight” the covid virus was lockdowns of businesses, schools, churches, and social life generally. No one ever doubted that these lockdowns entailed terrible costs, and it pretty quickly became clear that they conferred few if any benefits. But many governments around the world, including our own with the collaboration of tech magnates, ruthlessly suppressed debate over their advisability.

PRETTY SURE THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE END FOR SCIENCE, WHICH MEANS THE BEGINNING OF THE NEW DARK AGES: Scientific American claims Western science made up two sexes in order to 'reinforce gender and racial divisions'
Scientific American magazine was mocked and ridiculed over bizarre claims it made about binary sex roles in Western science in a series of tweets.
The claims were a part of a Twitter thread attempting to recast the binary sexual identities in order to fit the transgender agenda.
"Before the late 18th century, Western science recognized only one sex—the male—and considered the female body an inferior version of it. The shift historians call the 'two-sex model' served mainly to reinforce gender and racial divisions by tying social status to the body," read the sixth tweet in the series of seven.
“It's not just complex in the context of intersex," read a quote from medical anthropologist Katrina Karkazis. "Our bodies are far more variable than our categories. Part of what's happened is people become slotted into this binary framework.”
Critics of the claim lined up on social media to cast scorn on the science magazine and make their arguments against the claim.

Police told a group of lesbians to leave a gay pride march in Cardiff after an officer was filmed telling the gender-critical women to step aside due to ‘confrontation’ with a transgender marchers and their supporters.
The activist group ‘Get The L Out UK’, which ‘stands against transgenderism’, shared footage from yesterday’s Cardiff Pride event.
In the clip, two rival marchers can be seen shouting at each other on St Mary Street during the LGBT march.
Organisers of the event, Pride Cymru, have since claimed the lesbian group – seen displaying banners reading ‘transactivism erases lesbians’ and ‘lesbians don’t like penises’ – had ‘interrupted’ the march, and were not officially registered to attend.
The police officer can be heard saying to the women they are ‘causing confrontation between different groups of people’.
He said: ‘At the moment, your march, this group of people is causing confrontation between different groups of people.’
Women are then heard replying ‘we’re lesbians, it’s Cardiff pride’.
The police officer replies, saying ‘whatever you are… at the moment, is causing confrontation’.
WHAT. A. JOKE. America has the world’s best ruling class. There is no question about it. Simply the best. The CCP sends is smiling. U.S. Forces Ordered to Stop Using Gender Pronouns to Improve ‘Lethality.’
A division of the U.S. Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), the branch tasked with confronting China, has ordered its senior leaders and commanders to stop using gender pronouns in written formats, saying the shift to more neutral language will help improve the fighting force’s “lethality.”
“In accordance with the Diverse PACAF priority, ‘We must embrace, promote and unleash the potential of diversity and inclusion,” states a May email sent to senior leaders and commanders at the Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, which operates under the Pacific Air Forces, according to a partial copy of the order obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
Leaders at the base are instructed, “Do not use pronouns, age, race, etc.” when writing performance reviews or other materials, such as recommendations for awards. “Competition against near-peer adversaries requires a united focus from the command, the joint team, and our international partners. Welcoming and employing varied perspectives from a foundation of mutual respect will improve our interoperability, efficiency, creativity, and lethality.”
The policy change is part of a larger effort by the Biden administration and U.S. military to foster what it says is a more culturally sensitive environment. The U.S. Navy, for instance, recently published a video instructing its sailors on proper gender pronouns. The Army also mandates gender identity training and trains officers on when to offer subordinates gender-transition surgery, the Free Beacon first reported in March. Critics of these moves say a woke cultural agenda is handicapping America’s fighting forces and distracting it from pressing global challenges, such as terrorism and China’s aggressive war moves.
