Well done! At some point, I will share with you The Divorce Speech, one that I delivered to every client sitting across from me at my desk and perfected over nearly 40 years as they confronted the transition from being married to no longer married. You may find it interesting.

Thanks, James. I think I might enjoy that!

Procreation is not necessary for human survival. It is necessary for the existence of the species as a whole, but I can easily survive without having children. The standard is not humanity as a whole. The standard is your life. For instance, if everybody on Earth decided not to have children for completely selfish reasons, and humanity disappeared in a hundred years, that would be fine. There is nothing intrinsically good with humanity existing. The existence of humanity is good only if individual humans are happy.

An excellent summary of what marriage is and why it has been metaphysical necessary. It is also wholly in agreement with my personal experience, and what I see in the world. I am most curious how you are going to connect this institution up with a proper political system based on individual rights, and the very real existence of homosexual love and its obvious partnerships through time.

Unfortunately this is not the current reality. For all the whack jobs insisting that men can get pregnant, there are 100,000 who don't take it seriously. I hope the next essay addresses how we get there.

Perhaps go back and read the first few chapters of Genesis and realize that marriage is not an invention of man but rather is ordained by God; BIG DIFFERENCE!
